"In recent years, the European Union has been challenged by the growing number of legal and illegal migrants from non-EU countries. Nowadays, we are witnessing the emergence of a unitied EU immigration policy, about to become a set ot laws and documents binding not only for its present members, but also for candidate countries. Although for the immediate present Poland is still a ""third country"", following its imminent accession to the EU it will replace Germany as the Union's eastern border. Poland's main partner from the other side of the frontier will be Ukraine, whose population of approx. 50 million may become the main source of migrant labour for European labour markets, and especially for the Polish one.This book describes legislative regulations concerning management of labour migration in Poland and the principles of and likely developments in Ukrainian migration policy. Furthermore, it deals with the situation on labour markets in Poland and Ukraine as well as labour migration between the two countries. The reader will also find Polish and Ukrainian analysts' descriptions of recent tendencies in labour migration and their opinions concerning future trends in the field."
